This is so far my favourite brunch place. The food was delicious and fresh. Great plating- the choice of vegetables to accompany the dish. Love it and the chef Marysol is such an amazing person and so attentive to make sure you have the best experience. I must say I love where it's located and the inside so cozy
Cool spot with parking- definitely going back to check the next menu of Marysol

My experience at Edgar was poor. Previous customers were complaining that they had a poor experience because they we English. We were also a group of 3 English speaking people and our experience mirrored theirs. There must be something wrong with your hostess.

I asked for a veggie sandwich without mayo as I'm intolerant to eggs. The hostess right away told me she can't do that. In her understating, all your "fresh" sandwiches were already prepared and can't be changed. She didn't even go to ask to cook to see if anything can be done. There was really no other choice in the menu without mayo/eggs. Her only options offered were to take as it is or to leave.

I didn't want to make an argument in front of my colleagues so i said that I'll try it. I opened the sandwich to try to eat the content without mayo. The olive bread was actually good but soaked with that mayo you had. But the most disturbing fact was that i found a hair in the sandwich. The funny thing is that i only open the sandwich because i wanted to get the mayo out of it and that's how i found the hair piece. I wouldn't have found it if i didn't open it, right?

This was disgusting and i stopped eating the rest of it, barely able to keep inside what i already ate. At the end your hostesses did not even ask me about it as i would have shown her the all "natural and organic" with a piece of hair sandwich. She just took the plates and was ready for her tip.

I agree with other customers saying that 60$ for 3 sandwiches is a steep and quite ballsy price. But 60$ for vegie sandwiches with pieces of hair in them is not only outrageous but a public safe issue. I had cleaner food eating from the street in Thailand.

I would never go back there, alone or with my colleagues. There are so many nice place to eat in Gatineau/Ottawa but Edgar is not on that list.

Of note, I sent this exact review to one of the persons answering reviews on diffrent sites (Marysol) to give her the chance to rectify this. She acknowledge the reviw but that's about it for the extent of their PR.

I could see why this is such a local favourite brunch location.

Food: they are very creative with their brunch menu and the food was tasty. I like it when restaurants go off the classic brunch food and concoct something unique And gourmet. Although my food was very heavy, I still enjoyed it.

Ambiance: there wasn't any particular ambiance at this restaurant. Just regular brunch type restaurant with no stand-out decor.

I would come back and try something else from the menu. I'm from Montreal, so I'm used to the 30min-1hr lineups.

Prepare for long line ups! They only have like 10 tables so it's no surprise. We ended up going to Art Is In Bakery and Gatineau Park because she told us to go back 45 minutes later.

The food did not disappoint so I'm glad it was worth the wait. We had the Peameal and Bouef de Ouef and we really enjoyed all of it. The bouef was tender and slow cooked, which was perfect for a hearty fall meal.

I would love to try the Shakshuka or Dutch crepe next times
